Atlantic Council of the United Kingdom

Atlantic Council of the United Kingdom

The Atlantic Council of the United Kingdom is an independent non-governmental charitable organisation, run by volunteers for its Members and guests to further knowledge of NATO and international affairs. Officially recognised by NATO, the Ministry of Defence and the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, they are committed to the search for a genuinely peaceful international order, based on the rule of law and respect for human rights.

The Council supports policymakers and promotes public debate on topics surrounding the UK’s place in the contemporary international security framework, encouraging active engagement and participation in the fields of international relations, diplomacy and foreign policy.

Their ultimate aim is to work to help prevent war through building a healthy, vigorous and inclusive discourse on international affairs, facilitating dialogue across the most disparate parts of society.
