International Gas Union
The International Gas Union (IGU) was founded in 1931. Its mission is to advocate for gas as an integral part of a sustainable global energy system, and to promote the political, technical and economic progress of the gas industry.
IGU covers the complete value of gas chain from exploration and production, transmission via pipelines and liquefied natural gas (LNG) as well as distribution and combustion of gas at the point of use.
ISC has worked closely with IGU over the years, producing the bi-annual IGU magazine International Gas as well as commemorative volumes to mark milestones in the organisation’s history and, most recently, a brochure highlighting the achievements of the Norwegian IGU Secretariat, hosted by Statoil.
